Marginal moraine at the main stationary line west of the Horn

The area with the marginal moraine has great cultural-historical value. The many burial mounds are clearly located on the highest points of the landscape along the top of the marginal moraine. Along the marginal moraine there are traces that the stretch back in ancient times was a main road, which is probably because the marginal moraine forms a watershed, so it was possible to walk dry along the edge. The ancient road , which runs through the area, has been designated as a cultural heritage area.

The site comprises an approximately 800-metre long stretch at Skodborg Huse, west of Kilen and immediately north of Klosterhede. The main habitat line, which can be followed from the coastal profile at Bovbjerg and further east, forms the boundary between two markedly different landscape types.
