Oddesund

Oddesund is a coastal area located north of Struer with beach wall formations, headlands and inlets.

The area contains two distinctive headlands, extending towards each other from the south and northwest respectively. The two headlands are separated by a narrow strait, Oddesund, which is only approx. 400 m wide. The southern headland forms a straight headland, while the headland from the northwest is a curved headland. In addition to the two large headlands, the area contains other characteristic coastal forms such as beach wall formations, beach lakes and salt marshes.

The area, together with the hill country and the cliff coasts on both sides, provides a unique overview of how erosion and deposition have shaped the coastal landscape. Large parts of the area are protected nature in the form of salt meadows and smaller areas of heathland. Parts of the area are designated as a Natura 2000 bird protection area and habitat area.

The flat landscape stands in sharp contrast to the high glacial hills both to the north, Odby Klint, and to the south of the area at Toftum Bjerge .
