Bjerrumbuen
Prominent marginal moraine with a predominance of glacial lake slopes
The Bjerrumbuen is a distinctive element in the moraine landscape that makes up the majority of the northern part of the geopark's land area. The Bjerrumbuen is an arc-shaped hill range with heights up to about 65 m above sea level. The arc extends from the large marginal moraine in the north ( Site No. Lem – No. Nissum – Kamstrup ) and approximately 1.5 km southwards.
From here the hill slope turns east. In the northern part of the arc the ridge is distinct and the southwestern flank drops steeply towards Nr. Nissum Seminarieby. The drop is about 15 meters from 55 to 40 meters above sea level over a distance of only 200 meters.
What is special about this location is that on top of the marginal moraine and on the eastern and northeastern flanks of the marginal moraine there are a number of defined hills with steep sides and sandy soil (see the photo at the top of the page).
