Nørre Lem - Nørre Nissum - Kamstrup
Prominent marginal moraine formed by re-thrust of the Main Thrust Glacier
The impressive ridge Nr. Lem – Nr. Nissum – Kamstrup is part of one of the most striking landscape elements in the moraine landscape that makes up the majority of the northern part of the geopark's land area. Among the ridges behind the Main Stationary Line, Nr. Lem – Nr. Nissum – Kamstrup is the most distinct and impressive.
The moraine landscape was formed in connection with the Main Thrust about 23,000-21,000 years ago. The site includes a large east-west-running hill immediately east of Lemvig and the northern flank of the hill down to Nissum Bredning. The country road from Lemvig and through Nr. Nissum follows the top of the hill.
