The landscape in the Geopark
Geopark West Jutland is a part of Denmark where the landscapes are grand and richly varied, where you can experience very large parts of the history of the formation of the Danish landscape - the landscape that the ice ages left behind. The majority of the Danish landscape types that developed after the ice age are richly represented.

The Ice Age Landscape
The backbone of the Geopark is the main ice sheet, which stretched from Bovbjerg in the west to Karup Å in the east and is one of the most striking landscape elements in Denmark. While the ice rose to the north and east, the land was ice-free to the west and south.

The coastal landscape
The geopark has over 200 km of beach, alternating between the rugged West Sea coast and the many coves and beaches of the Limfjord.

The cultural landscape
The cultural landscape is a broad term that covers landscape forms that are, to a greater or lesser extent, influenced or shaped by humans.
