Flynder Å - Klosterhede - Kronhede

The heath plain is formed from materials from two glacier gates (at Rom and Fousing/Gudumlund), where meltwater gushed out from under the ice and left behind large gravel and sand deposits.

On the poor land, the heath farmers lived a miserable life. Later, parts of the heath were planted and today constitute, among other things, Klosterhede Plantage. Today, traces of World War II can still be seen, where, among other things, 2 airfields were built, a real one and a "fake airfield", hospital bunkers, etc. and in the last phase of the war, a large camp was established for German refugees.

The area has many marked hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking trails, two dog parks, forest playgrounds, several nature campsites and shelters. There are opportunities for both the active athlete and the quiet forest walker, who can enjoy the large population of red deer and roe deer, admire large beaver dams and spend a large part of late summer and autumn collecting mushrooms, etc.
