About the event
In this lecture by marine biologist Amalie Rasmussen, we take a closer look at how Jutland Reef was created, what development the area has undergone, and what the reef looks like today.
The event begins at the gravel and stone storage site in Thyborøn, where participants will have the opportunity to see and touch a selection of stones that have been retrieved from the seabed. Along the way, we will be given an explanation of what the stones can tell us, how the raw material extraction takes place, and why it takes place.
The lecture provides both a geological insight into Jutland Reef and opens up a conversation about the environmental consequences that come with the extraction of raw materials from the sea.
